Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined manufacturing technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving mechanical challenges, and taking ownership of the manufacturing process from start to finish.

Unlike traditional production positions, this role offers the opportunity to manufacture a specialized product used in the animal health industry. Our equipment has been custom designed for our manufacturing process, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys learning how machines work, troubleshooting problems, and continuously improving processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Manufacture products from raw materials through final completion.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor specialized manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate equipment including material slicers, assembly machinery, drying ovens, and other custom-built production equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic equipment repairs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct product quality issues throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet established specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe equipment and work areas.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel and technical support when advanced repairs are needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and equipment performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two or more years of manufacturing, production, machine operation, or related experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of mechanical experience, including troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, or working with manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how machinery operates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and process-related issues.
  • Comfortable learning, operating, and adjusting custom-built manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, specifications, warnings, labels, and other production documentation.
  • Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to become certified to operate a forklift.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout an assigned eight-hour shift.
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, squat, climb, reach, push, pull, and perform other physical movements required to operate and maintain equipment.
  • Ability to frequently use hands, wrists, and fingers to grip, grasp, turn, press, handle tools, and manipulate materials and product components.
