Job Description

Summary:

The Commercial Loan Operations Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently completing operational processes associated with the bank’s commercial loan portfolio. This position plays an important role in loan boarding, funding, servicing, and maintenance functions, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and audit standards. Provides reliable support to other teammates and participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and service quality within the commercial loan operations department. The role requires proficient knowledge of commercial loan documentation, loan servicing processes, and regulatory compliance.


Essential Functions:

  • Accurately book newly closed commercial term loans, Commercial Lines of Credit, Letters of Credit, and Commercial mortgages into the bank’s core system based on the executed loan documentation and credit approval terms.
  • Ensure data accuracy and documentation compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements prior to booking.
  • Create batch entries for new loans; fees; reversals and second day entries.
  • Review newly boarded loan types for accuracy and compliance.
  • Process and review Loan Modifications, Line of Credit renewals, and Letter of Credit renewals.
  • Complete account maintenance requests (e.g., addition, deletion, or updates to overdraft protection, automatic transfers, lenders, etc.).
  • Prepare and review loan payoff requests.
  • Process payment reversals, corrections, and construction advances.
  • Monitor and follow up on trailing documents and required items to ensure completeness.
  • Process loan servicing ticket requests within SLA time frames.
  • Perform such other duties as may be required by the position.


Required Education and Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of banking principles, operations, documentation, and services.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, mouse, keyboard, phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators, and fax machines. Due to the physical location of this position, phone ringing, and people conversing, it may be difficult to hear at times and therefore easily distracting.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including standard computer and copy paper boxes, and must be able to open and close filing cabinets and drawers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexibility of schedule to meet business needs is required.

Hourly Rate: $20.87/hr. - $27.60/hr.

Pay Transparency:

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
