Position Summary:
The Senior Fluid Power Field Service Technician is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, commissioning, repair, training and technical support of assigned orders relating to fluid power systems (hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical) within a customer’s location and within RG Group. The Senior Fluid Power Field Service Technician is also responsible for timely and quality service, supervision, and the design and quote process for assigned orders, as well as serving as the subject matter expert.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Fabricates, commissions, installs, troubleshoots and repairs fluid power systems and equipment.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on fluid power systems by utilizing reference materials including manuals, schematics, drawings and procedures.
- Conducts tests, inspections and evaluations of mechanical, electrical and software components relating to fluid power systems and equipment.
- Seeks sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction, in addition to keeping accurate records of service calls, maintaining inventory of service parts, tools, and test equipment.
- Operates independently in the field and directly with customers.
- Responds to customer emergency service requests.
- Responsible for delivering high quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Facilitates project management.
- Knowledge of design and product specifications relating to industrial controls, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Fluent understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electromechanical schematics/drawings and terminology.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in welding, tube and hydraulic hose fabrication, bending and end conditioning, metal fabrication, electrical controls and wiring, and painting.
- Good math and reading skills.
- Demonstrated dependability and ability to work independently.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-year degree in a specialized area a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in fluid power repair and assembly required.
- Certified Hydraulic Technician a plus.
- Certified in MIG or TIG welding a plus.upervisory responsibilities:
- None specifically associated with this position.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Both office and manufacturing environment.
- Requires regular travel up to 50% of the work time to client sites.
