As a Technical Support Specialist - Financials, you will serve as a key resource for customers by providing expert guidance on financial workflows, software functionality, and accounting-related processes. You will troubleshoot complex issues, educate users, and deliver solutions that help businesses operate more effectively.
- Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries through phone, chat, email, and screen-sharing sessions.
- Provide expert support for financial software features, including invoicing, accounts receivable, job costing, and related workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve accounting integration issues involving platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, and similar systems.
- Guide customers on accounting best practices, including chart of accounts setup, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
- Investigate customer challenges using support tools, testing methods, and available resources to deliver accurate solutions.
- Prevent escalations by addressing complex financial workflow issues with speed, empathy, and technical expertise.
- Translate accounting and technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for customers with different levels of expertise.
- Continuously build product knowledge and stay informed on new features, tools, and customer solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve support processes and customer outcomes.
You are a customer-focused technical support professional with strong analytical abilities and a solid understanding of accounting concepts. You combine problem-solving skills, communication expertise, and technical curiosity to help customers successfully use financial technology solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in technical support, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience providing technical support, customer support, or working with business software solutions.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits, accrual vs. cash accounting, general ledger, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Experience using accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar software is highly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial and technical concepts clearly.
- Customer-focused mindset with empathy, patience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities with experience using spreadsheets for reporting or analysis.
- Ability to adapt quickly, learn complex software, and thrive in a feedback-driven environment.
- Comfortable working remotely in a role requiring extended computer-based work.
- Knowledge of the home or commercial services industry is an advantage.
