Job Description

Position Title: SMD Production Planner
General Description
  • Responsible for planning production to meet customer requirements while adhering to standard base stock targets and utilizing SL Sequential Production principles (Maximize outputs while minimizing inputs).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management for 1,805 In-house Part Numbers (Root cause analysis & improvement plans)
  • Manpower Utilization Planning & Coordinating Daily Headcount Requirements with the Production Supervisors
  • Creating Production Plan to Meet Customer Requirements (Daily à Monthly à Yearly)
  • Coordinate Machinery & Tooling Preventative Maintenance Schedules with the Engineering Team
  • Create, Maintain, and Update SAP/MES Work Centers, Part Info, MBOM, Routing, and Sequencing
  • Coordinate New Program Production Planning with Production, Launch, and Costing to meet CIS targets
  • Actively Participate in CFT & TFT Activities (Especially UPMH or Scrap PPM)
  • Support Accounting Month End Closing from the PP Modules to Meet Deadlines
  • Production Documentation Control (IATF & QSB)
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly Production Reporting (OEE, SWS KPI) & Coordinate Root Cause Analysis with Countermeasures
  • Reporting of Supplies Expense Associated with Production Plan (Improvement Plans if needed)
  • Back-up Production Supervisor, Material Handler, or Operator in Emergency Situations
  • Management of Production Performance Data.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • Year of Manufacturing Scheduling Preferred but Not Required

Education

  • High school Diploma or Technical School Cert. or equivalent experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have exceptional communication abilities
  • Ability to complete assigned projects on time in a changing environment
  • Basic SAP PP Module Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Advanced understanding of production planning & lean manufacturing principles
  • Demonstrate good ethical characteristics and behaviors
