GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for the operation of machinery in the Service Center department. You are responsible for the inspection of the product to ensure a quality product is being delivered to our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a role model for accountability and positivity.
- Set up and operation of all Service Center equipment and machines.
- Quality inspection of all products slit or sheared in the department.
- Maintain safe working environment by keeping assigned work area clean and organized.
- Cross-train, learn and support all equipment and processes in the Service Center department.
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to working in other departments.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- The ability to measure and record width, burr, gauge, length, squareness, flatness, and visual metal being processed.
- The ability to read and record micrometer readings.
- The ability to read and record caliper readings.
- The ability to read and record tape measure readings.
- Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally.
- Ability to read, interpret and comply with company documents such as: Safety rules, work policies, procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to follow procedures consistently and with extreme accuracy.
- Strong desire to learn and the ability to apply knowledge to job tasks.
- Basic computer operating skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel and bend for extended periods of time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
