Job Description

Position Description: The Director of Marketing and Community Engagement leads organization-wide marketing, communications, brand management, community engagement, volunteer engagement, and events across Restore Education, Restore TECH Academy, the Career Pathways Professional Development Center (CPPDC), and other organizational programs.

This position serves as the organization's primary liaison with its marketing agency and creative partners, ensuring marketing initiatives align with organizational priorities and effectively support student recruitment, fundraising, workforce development, professional development, and community engagement. The Director oversees all organizational events, supervises the Coordinator, leads volunteer engagement and CRM strategy, and collaborates with executive leadership and program teams to strengthen community awareness and advance organizational goals.

Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer
Status: Exempt
Schedule: Full-time, with scheduled hours Monday through Thursday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Some evenings and weekends required.
Locations: Restore Education Central Campus, Restore TECH Academy, partner locations, and community event locations as needed. Some travel required.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy and Brand Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Restore Education and the organization's marketing agency and creative partners.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish annual marketing priorities, budgets, and performance expectations aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with the marketing agency to develop and execute integrated marketing and communications initiatives supporting student recruitment, fundraising, workforce development, professional development, and community engagement.
  • Ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and brand standards across Restore Education, Restore TECH Academy, CPPDC, and other organizational programs.
  • Review and approve marketing campaigns, communications, and creative materials to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and quality standards.
Communications and Public Relations
  • Lead the organization's external communications efforts.
  • Oversee newsletters, annual reports, impact reports, presentations, brochures, videos, executive communications, media materials, and organizational announcements.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to communicate student success stories, organizational outcomes, and community impact.
  • Support executive leadership with presentations, speeches, talking points, and strategic communications.
  • Coordinate media relations and public relations opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and public engagements.
  • Ensure all communications reflect the organization's mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Marketing Agency and Vendor Management
  • Manage relationships with the organization's marketing agency, web developers, photographers, videographers, printers, and other marketing vendors.
  • Develop scopes of work, timelines, budgets, and performance expectations for contracted services.
  • Coordinate marketing projects across internal departments and external partners.
  • Review and approve marketing deliverables to ensure quality, accessibility, brand consistency, and organizational alignment.
  • Ensure marketing projects are completed on time and within budget.
Marketing Analytics and Performance
  • Develop and monitor marketing performance measures and dashboards.
  • Monitor campaign performance, website analytics, social media engagement, event participation, volunteer engagement, and constituent engagement.
  • Analyze marketing results and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership and the Board regarding marketing performance and organizational visibility.
  • Support data-informed decision making across marketing and community engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor marketing agency performance and recommend improvements.
Volunteer Engagement and CRM Leadership
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, communication, recognition, and retention efforts.
  • Lead the implementation, administration, and strategic use of the Development CRM in partnership with the Development team.
  • Ensure accurate constituent data, reporting, segmentation, and communication.
  • Utilize CRM reporting to strengthen donor, volunteer, employer, and community partner engagement.
Organizational Events
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all organizational events across Restore Education, Restore TECH Academy, CPPDC, and other organizational programs.
  • Supervise the Coordinator supporting events.
  • Develop the annual organizational events calendar and event budgets.
  • Oversee event planning, logistics, sponsorships, marketing, volunteer coordination, vendor management, and event evaluation.
  • Partner with program leaders, Development, Operations, and Executive Leadership to ensure events advance organizational priorities.
  • Ensure organizational events reflect the organization's mission, values, and brand while delivering a high-quality participant experience.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Supervise, coach, and develop the Coordinator.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and innovative work environment.
  • Partner with Development, Instruction, Data and Outcomes, Navigation Services, Restore TECH Academy, CPPDC, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support grant communications, impact reporting, organizational storytelling, and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in marketing, communications, community engagement, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing marketing agencies, consultants, contractors, and other creative service providers.
  • Experience leading organizational marketing, communications, branding, community engagement, and event initiatives.
  • Experience supervising employees and leading cross-functional projects.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of marketing, communications, branding, community engagement, and event management principles.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with employees, volunteers, donors, community partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience managing marketing agencies, consultants, vendors, contracts, and budgets.
  • Ability to analyze marketing performance data and use results to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems; experience with Salesforce and digital marketing platforms preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and represent the organization professionally.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary Range: $80,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s License or obtain one within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work requires visual acuity, speech, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting as needed to perform essential functions.
