The IT Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, network systems, enterprise applications, and user support services. This role serves as a key resource for troubleshooting, implementing technology solutions, managing IT assets, and ensuring systems remain secure, compliant, and operational across multiple locations.
The IT Specialist operates with professionalism, autonomy, and a strong customer service focus while supporting employees and advancing organizational technology initiatives.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSoftware Administration & Support- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot business software applications.
- Implement new software solutions and upgrades to existing systems.
- Collaborate with software vendors to ensure functionality, support, and compliance.
- Maintain software licensing and subscription compliance.
- Assist with purchasing, deployment, and configuration of software solutions.
- Train and support staff on software applications and technology best practices.
- Evaluate software needs and provide recommendations regarding system improvements and costs.
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address technical issues.
- Assist in evaluating, purchasing, and deploying new hardware solutions.
- Support end users with hardware-related troubleshooting and training.
- Maintain hardware inventory and asset records.
- Support and administer Windows-based network infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain remote connectivity solutions, including VPN access.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Administer folder security and network resource permissions.
- Support Azure AD and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, endpoint security, and related security technologies.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues.
- Configure and maintain cellular and landline telephone systems.
- Support enterprise information systems and business applications.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of technology solutions across multiple locations.
- Provide technical support to staff and end users.
- Maintain accurate inventories of hardware, software, licenses, and technology assets.
- Track equipment lifecycle, warranty information, and replacement schedules.
- Ensure compliance with organizational technology standards.
- Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or
- Relevant technical certifications and equivalent experience.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Information Technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated customer service experience with a strong user-support orientation.

The IT Specialist is expected to:
