Regional Insurance Product Manager

Accountabilities:

The Regional Insurance Product Manager is responsible for leading state-level product strategy, optimizing market performance, and supporting the successful development and implementation of insurance solutions. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, business judgment, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams to deliver profitable growth.

  • Own state-level insurance product strategy, including underwriting eligibility, coverage offerings, competitive positioning, and proprietary product models.
  • Manage state filing processes, regulatory communications, and relationships with insurance departments to support timely approvals.
  • Partner with technology and operations teams to execute rate reviews, product updates, and new market launches.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including loss ratios, profitability drivers, claims trends, sales conversion, retention, and market performance.
  • Develop strategic recommendations based on quantitative analysis and translate complex findings into actionable business insights.
  • Build cost-benefit analyses for state-level initiatives, evaluating opportunities against business goals and profitability targets.
  • Identify business challenges, create analytical frameworks, and develop solutions in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Partner with business development teams to capture market feedback and incorporate field insights into product strategies.
  • Advocate for regional needs that may influence broader product enhancements and future initiatives.
  • Contribute to additional product management efforts, including competitor analysis, external data evaluation, and new product development.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines insurance product expertise, strategic problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities. This position requires experience managing complex product initiatives, using data to guide decisions, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across an organization.

  • 3–5 years of experience in insurance product management, product development, or related roles focused on strategy, analytics, or state-level ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Property and casualty (P&C) insurance experience required, with homeowners insurance experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quantitative data and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Experience defining complex business problems and building analytical approaches to identify solutions.
  • Strong storytelling, communication, presentation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to use data to influence business outcomes.
  • Experience with insurance product compliance, regulatory processes, or state insurance department relationships is a plus.
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize competing initiatives, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
