Job Description
PanCare of Florida is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Mobile team. In this role, you will assume responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician in the patient care area. You will work directly with PanCare leadership to ensure positive results and success in the mobile health program.
This position is with our Mobile team which requires day travel throughout Bay County.
Your responsibilities include the following:
- Assist and perform student health screenings to include BMI, Early Childhood Development, Hearing, Height, Hemoglobin, Lead, Scoliosis, and Vision
- Accurately record findings of completed health screenings
- Administer medication as directed by the physician
- Administer minor first aid
- May assist with managing communicable diseases and conditions
- Notify PanCare nurse, parent/guardian, and principal of acutely ill or injured students
- Perform CPR/AED as needed
- Documentation and data reporting of services provided in clinic according to established policy and procedures
- Greet patients and prepare them for screening and exams
- Complete the mobile check-in process at service sites and community events
- Greet and communicate professionally with the site contact and staff throughout the duration at any given site
- Ensure all patient intake paperwork is complete and maintain tracking of patient encounters at each site
- Comply with confidentiality requirements of Bay County School District and PanCare of Florida
- Assist with medical record data entry as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED
- At least 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
- At least 1 year experience with record-keeping, maintaining health documentation, and managing health-related information
- BLS Certification
- Must pass Level 2 fingerprint background check, including both State and Federal (FBI) criminal history checks
- Understanding of basic medical procedures, first aid, and student health needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with children or in a school setting
