The Epic Client System Administrator supports, configures, and maintains Epic Client
Systems to ensure reliable access to Epic applications across clinical and operational
environments.

I. Major Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain Epic components including Hyperspace, Interconnect, EPS, Web BLOB, MyChart, CareLink, Rover, Haiku.
  • Support daily operations of Epic client systems and web/service servers.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, performance problems, and integration failures.
  • Participate in cloud migration tasks including endpoint updates, IRIS reinstall support, Kuiper and System Pulse operations.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, application teams, and infrastructure teams.


II. Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Epic certifications: Hyperspace Deployment, Web/Service Servers (Hyperspace Web, MyChart, Interconnect, Web BLOB, BCA, EPS).


Experience/Skills:

Required:
  • 2+ years in Healthcare IT in an Epic Client Systems role.
  • Technical expertise in Windows Server, Epic client distribution tools, and web/service servers.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with clinical and technical teams.
  • Ability to document procedures, configurations, and operational playbooks.
  • Adaptability in fast‑paced healthcare and cloud‑migration environments.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for Epic client systems and Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency with scripting (PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Strong understanding of Azure, virtual infrastructure, and cloud‑hosted workflows.
  • Ability to manage client distribution tools and web/service server architecture.
  • Experience supporting clinical and operational teams in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and operational workflows.
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced, rapidly evolving technical environments.

Microsoft Ecosystem:
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator Certification (MS‑102)
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104)
  • Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ‑140)
  • Microsoft Endpoint Administrator (MD‑102)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ‑800/801)
  • Intune Endpoint Management training

Epic EHR:
  • Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) certification
  • Hyperspace Deployment certification
  • Epic Web and Service Servers certifications (Interconnect, MyChart, Web BLOB, EPS)
  • Epic Kuiper and System Pulse training
  • Epic IRIS infrastructure training


Preferred:
  • Experience with Citrix VDI, Cisco UCS, Azure, Layer 2/3 networking.
  • Training and Certifications (Microsoft Ecosystem & Epic EHR)


Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
