Job Description

Staff UX Motion Designer - MetaMask

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff UX Motion Designer - MetaMask based in Brazil.

This is a staff-level design opportunity focused on shaping how motion brings digital product experiences to life at scale.
You will define a cohesive motion language that makes complex interactions clearer, more responsive, and intuitive for millions of users.
The role combines hands-on craft with systems thinking, from prototyping and interaction exploration to creating reusable patterns and guidelines.
You will work closely with product designers and engineers to translate motion concepts into polished, performant production experiences.
As part of a Design Systems team, you will influence motion across product surfaces while helping establish scalable standards for teams to adopt.
You will balance usability and moments of delight, ensuring animation supports understanding and trust rather than creating unnecessary friction.
This is an opportunity to raise the bar for motion design within a globally distributed, fast-moving Web3 environment.

Accountabilities
  • Define and evolve a clear, cohesive motion language that establishes how interactions move, respond, and feel across product surfaces.
  • Use animation and interaction design to make complex experiences easier to understand, helping users recognize what is happening, what has changed, and what action to take next.
  • Develop scalable motion patterns, guidelines, reusable assets, and other design-system resources that enable teams to apply motion consistently without starting from scratch.
  • Prototype and explore interaction concepts to communicate motion behaviors and help designers, engineers, and stakeholders align on intended experiences.
  • Partner closely with product designers and engineers to integrate motion into production experiences that feel natural, perform well, and remain consistent across platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce moments of delight while maintaining a strong focus on usability, clarity, accessibility, and product performance.
  • Contribute hands-on to the overall quality and craft of the design organization through thoughtful feedback, collaboration, and design exploration.
  • Help establish and maintain scalable motion practices that support consistency across screens, features, teams, and platforms.

Requirements

  • You have 6+ years of professional experience working with motion, animation, or interaction design for digital products.
  • You have demonstrated experience using motion to clarify complex experiences and improve users’ understanding of interactions and product behavior.
  • You have experience defining motion languages, principles, and patterns that create consistency across multiple screens, features, and platforms.
  • You have built scalable systems such as guidelines, reusable assets, or components that enable other teams to apply motion efficiently.
  • You are experienced in collaborating closely with engineers to bring motion concepts into production while maintaining smooth performance and cross-platform consistency.
  • You use prototyping as a core part of your design process to explore interactions, test ideas, and communicate intended motion behavior.
  • You have strong judgment when balancing functional clarity with visual expression and understand when motion enhances an experience versus when it becomes distracting.
  • You demonstrate strong design craft and actively contribute to raising quality through feedback, collaboration, iteration, and hands-on execution.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed, startup-oriented environment where priorities and challenges can evolve quickly.
  • You can demonstrate relevant transferable skills even if your experience does not perfectly match every requirement.
  • You must be based in Canada for this position; applications from candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany cannot be considered.
  • Employment is subject to background checks, which may include employment, education, and criminal record verification.

Benefits

  • US pay range of $146,000–$218,000 annually, excluding bonus, equity, and other benefits; this published range applies to US-based candidates only.
  • Compensation for Canada-based candidates is determined according to location, experience, and skills during the interview process and may differ from the US range.
  • Opportunity to work on motion design for a product used by millions of people within the Web3 ecosystem.
  • Staff-level scope with significant influence over motion standards, systems, and product experiences.
  • Fully remote, globally distributed working environment.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with designers, engineers, product specialists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies and complex design challenges within a rapidly evolving digital environment.
  • Opportunity to contribute to scalable design systems and influence the overall quality and consistency of product experiences.
