Job Description & Core Responsibilities

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Events and Promotions Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: Grade 3

Gaming Class: Compact/Gaming

Position Summary:

The Events and Promotions Representative is responsible for leading customers through a variety of promotional events and creating engaging and effective campaigns. They collaborate with the Events and Promotions Manager, coordinate with other departments, and maintain a high level of professionalism and positivity. They exhibit problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, utilize active listening, and demonstrate creativity and innovation in enhancing the customer experience. The Events and Promotions Representative must stay updated on industry trends and collaborate with the Marketing Team to create exciting marketing materials. They promote events and promotions in a highly enthusiastic manner and work flexible hours as required.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Promotions Assistant is responsible for the following duties:

  • Collaborate with the Events and Promotions Manager in the creation and implementation of engaging and effective promotional campaigns for the casino.
  • Coordinate with other departments and provide timely updates about the scheduled events and promotions to ensure smooth execution.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism and a positive attitude at all times, whether working with customers, vendors, or the public.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to manage any issues or challenges that may arise during events and promotions.
  • Utilize active listening skills to gather feedback and suggestions from guests and provide valuable insights to the Marketing Team.
  • Demonstrate creativity and innovation in developing new concepts and strategies to enhance the customer experience and deliver exceptional entertainment.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of industry trends and competitors’ activities and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team in the preparation of exciting marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital media content.
  • Promote events and promotions in a highly engaging and enthusiastic manner to entice customers and increase participation.
  • Work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing or Events and Promotions Manager.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service or promotions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.

Preferred qualifications for a Casino Promotions Team Member:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • Experience in the casino or hospitality industry.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and constantly learn and improve.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.

Physical Demands:

Job-specific abilities and requirements include:

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders.

Ability to perform repetitive motion from use of a computer.
20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses.
Ability to crouch, and/or crawl, and/or kneel.
Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.

It is the policy of the Bois Forte Band, pursuant to tribal and federal law, to give preference to qualified Native Americans in hiring, promotion, and departmental transfers. Preference will be extended to members of the Bois Forte Band, members of other federally recognized tribes and to status Natives born in Canada.
