Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) system engineering and information technology firm. Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.’s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.

The Position:

This position is awaiting contract award.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Aircraft Logs & Records Technician to manage and execute the administrative and data-tracking functions for the F/A-18 variants assigned to NAS JRB Fort Worth.

Operating within the Maintenance Administration department, you will be responsible for the accuracy, compliance, and upkeep of all aircraft logbooks, aeronautical technical publications, and configuration records. This role requires strict adherence to the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) to ensure the squadron's aircraft maintain optimal readiness and compliance for flight operations.

Responsibilities:

Data Management & Configuration Tracking

  • Maintain comprehensive, flawless aircraft logbooks, historical records, and component tracking logs for all assigned F/A-18 platforms.
  • Input, update, and track maintenance data, inspection intervals, and component flight hours within the military data logging software (NALCOMIS / OOMA).
  • Monitor high-time components, track mandatory Technical Directives (TDs), and generate scheduled maintenance forecast reports for Maintenance Control.
  • Process and log aircraft transfer and acceptance inspections, ensuring all structural logs and history profiles are complete upon receipt or delivery.

Technical Publications & Compliance

  • Maintain the Central Technical Publications Library (CTPL), ensuring all electronic and physical technical manuals, blueprints, and Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs) are current.
  • Audit and review completed maintenance action forms to verify proper sign-offs, correct documentation codes, and compliance with NAMP instructions before finalizing records.
  • Support internal quality assurance audits, providing data, history timelines, and logs for review by government or corporate inspectors.

Administrative Shop Support

  • Initiate, review, and distribute daily and weekly maintenance production reports, flight hour summaries, and asset status summaries.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Quality Assurance, and Material Control (Supply) to ensure smooth communication regarding part changes and life-limited tracking.
  • Maintain a secure, clean, and organized office and digital storage environment for sensitive aircraft record files.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience managing military aviation logs, records, and technical libraries—ideally within a U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps O-level squadron environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of NAMP protocols (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series) and configuration management regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing NALCOMIS and OOMA (Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity) software tools.
  • Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access military networks and flight line data systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a military maintenance administration course (AZ "A" school or equivalent) is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing records specifically for F/A-18 Hornet or Super Hornet aircraft platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Technical Directives System.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily an office/administrative role, but must have the ability to sit or stand at a computer workstation for long periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry boxes of technical files, logs, or manuals weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasional movement between the Maintenance Administration office, hangar bays, and work centers to deliver logs or verify physical aircraft data plates.
