Essential Responsibilities:

  • Sets up banquet and event spaces according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, china, silverware, glassware, centerpieces, signage, and other required items.
  • Prepares and maintains waiting, beverage, and service stations to ensure they are properly stocked and presentation-ready.
  • Prepares and replenishes food and beverage items for banquet service in accordance with event specifications, food safety standards, and hotel procedures.
  • Provides professional, attentive, and timely food and beverage service while maintaining a welcoming and engaging presence with guests.
  • Greets and interacts with guests in a friendly, professional, and genuine manner, anticipating and responding to guest needs whenever possible.
  • Monitors assigned event areas throughout the function and promptly addresses guest requests, service needs, and operational concerns.
  • Clears tables, removes used dishes, glassware, linens, and other service items throughout and following events while maintaining an organized and professional environment.
  • Performs event breakdown and properly cleans, organizes, stores, and secures banquet equipment, supplies, food, and other materials.
  • Maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly work and service areas throughout setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Follows all food handling, sanitation, safety, and responsible beverage service requirements applicable to the position.
  • Assists with preparing for future events by folding napkins, stocking condiments and supplies, organizing equipment, and completing other preparation duties.
  • Communicates effectively with banquet leadership, food & beverage teams, and other hotel departments to support seamless event execution.
  • Assists other team members as needed, including providing break coverage and supporting event operations based on business needs.
  • Maintains awareness of event timelines, guest needs, service standards, and assigned responsibilities throughout each function.
  • Reports any guest concerns, accidents, injuries, equipment issues, or other operational concerns promptly to the appropriate leader.
  • Arrives on time and prepared for scheduled shifts and follows company uniform, grooming, and appearance standards.
  • Consistently upholds OHM standards, hotel brand standards, policies, procedures, and service expectations.
  • Delivers world-class guest service and contributes to a positive and welcoming experience for guests and team members.
  • Embraces and supports O’Reach, OHX Experience, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety initiatives.
  • Understands and complies with all OHM company policies and procedures applicable to the position.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.

Hours & Requirements

  • Schedule varies based on banquet and event business needs and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • May be required to work extended or varying hours based on event schedules.
  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • Must maintain company and hotel uniform, grooming, and appearance standards.
  • May be required to complete food safety, responsible beverage service, and other required training.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing event needs.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, hotel, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous food and beverage service experience preferred.
  • Must successfully complete required company, hotel, brand, food safety, and service training.

Work Environment / Conditions

  • Works primarily in banquet rooms, meeting spaces, restaurants, and other hotel event areas.
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction and periods of high activity, noise, and changing priorities.
  • May work in environments with varying temperatures, including exposure to hot food and beverage service areas and refrigerated storage areas.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling during event setup, service, and breakdown.
  • May be required to move tables, chairs, banquet equipment, supplies, and other event materials.
  • May occasionally work outdoors or in other areas of the property as required for events.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while performing physically demanding duties and working extended event functions.
