STUDENT TRANSITION SPECIALIST in Fremont, Ohio at Terra State Community College

Position Summary:

• Responsible for providing support and guidance to students as they transition from high school to college or the workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Provide individual and groupadvising tostudents on academic and career planning.
• Workswith students to develop their academic and career goals,identifyresources, and support services, and navigate the college or workforce application process.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations on college and career readiness.
• Work with students toidentifyand apply for financial aid.
• Coordinate with other campus departments and community agencies to provide support services to students.
• Maintainaccuraterecords of student progress
• Report on program effectiveness to stakeholders

Education and/or Work Experience:

• Required

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field, 2+ years of experience working with students in a college or career readiness setting.

• Preferred

• Master's degree in education, counseling, social work, ora relatedfield.

• Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledgeofworking with students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

• Training in trauma-informed practices.
