The General Maintenance position is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facilities across various locations in the United States. This role involves performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance to uphold safety and functionality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying issues promptly and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain a safe environment. This position requires a proactive approach to facility upkeep, collaborating with other team members and departments to support operational goals. Ultimately, the role contributes to the longevity and reliability of equipment and infrastructure, enhancing overall organizational productivity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to determine the best course of action.
- Conduct repairs on equipment, fixtures, and infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs or services are required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment or facilities for special events or projects as needed.
