As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them live more independently and participate fully in their communities.
You will work closely with individuals to support daily living activities, implement individualized programs, administer medication when required, and encourage personal growth, independence, and community involvement.
Essential Responsibilities- Complete all assigned pre-service and in-service training requirements.
- Drive and accompany individuals to appointments, recreational activities, community events, and other assigned destinations while adhering to all motor vehicle laws and agency policies.
- Carry out prescribed healthcare programs, including medication administration.
- Implement behavioral support programs in accordance with individualized behavior plans.
- Teach and reinforce skills identified in each individual's Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP).
- Assist individuals with personal care needs while ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect.
- Promote independence, self-confidence, and community participation.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment for the individuals served.
- Accurately complete required documentation and reports.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers, families, and support teams to ensure quality services.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid Driver's License
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a human services setting
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
