Industrial Cleaner/Safety Assistant TN in Greeneville, Tennessee at JOST International Corp

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the _EH&S Coordinator_. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

INDUSTRIAL CLEANER/SAFETY ASSISTANT – Performs functions associated with cleaning areas of the building and upkeep of grounds surrounding JOST International, assist in the 5S and Safety programs.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include but are not limited to:

a) Clean then maintain the interior and exterior of facility grounds.

b) Running sweepers, scrubbers and company truck (valid driving license required).

c) Not afraid of heights and ability be certified to run aerial lifts.

d) Sort/repair pallets using hand and power tools.

e) Clean walls, machines and remove dust/cobwebs from plant floor.

f) Assist with maintaining safety, environmental and recycling equipment/processes.

g) Operate in compliance with basic processes and work instructions.

h) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

REQUIREMENTS:

a) Organizational skills and self-motivation a plus.

b) Ability to obtain certification to run and train on material handling equipment.

c) Ability to work with mechanical tools and equipment.

d) Ability to read and write legible.

e) Ability to use power washer & power tools.

f) Perform all aspects of industrial cleaning.

g) Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, reach and pull with full motion unrestricted.

h) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

a) Work is generally performed at a production plant 100% of time

b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, pull or move objects of 50 pounds or less with or without assistance.
