Francophone Charter School of Oakland is a tuition-free French immersion charter school that uses a dual language immersion model to build students' bilingualism and biliteracy in French and English. In the lower grades, 90% of instruction is delivered in French, and select hours each week are dedicated to English Language Arts instruction with a designated teacher. Responsibilities

The ELA teacher oversees students’ English language and literacy development. Planning instruction based on the California standards for English Language Arts and English Language Development, and using adopted materials (Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum), the teacher delivers instruction to multiple classes of students, monitors progress using formative assessment, and differentiates accordingly. The English Language Arts teacher partners with French-speaking colleagues and with families to promote the success of each child.

Grades

Transitional Kindergarten - 1st Grade.

Requirements:

California Single Subject English teaching credential, Multiple Subjects teaching credential, or equivalent.
