This opportunity as a Supply Chain Manager focuses on overseeing purchasing operations, vendor relationships, inventory control, and material planning to ensure smooth production workflows and operational success. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies to support production and operational goals
- Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, supplies, and operational services
- Maintain inventory levels while minimizing waste, shortages, and excess inventory
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery expectations are met
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Collaborate with production, operations, engineering, and finance teams to forecast material requirements
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, and backorders to prevent production disruptions
- Analyze supply chain performance, market trends, and vendor risks to support operational planning
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and pricing records within ERP and inventory systems
- Oversee supply chain and purchasing staff while supporting training and professional development
- Support operational efficiency initiatives and continuous process improvement efforts
- Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and safety standards
- Assist with budgeting, cost analysis, and operational reporting related to procurement activities
- Support cross-functional operational projects and strategic supply chain initiatives
- Perform additional supply chain and operational duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- Proven experience within manufacturing, industrial production, marine manufacturing, or similar operational environments required
- Strong procurement, inventory management, and vendor relationship management experience
- Experience overseeing purchasing workflows, supplier negotiations, and material planning operations
- Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Experience leading or supervising supply chain, purchasing, or inventory teams preferred
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work within industrial manufacturing environments, including production floor exposure
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of supply chain, procurement, or inventory management experience preferred
