Job Description
A Compression Mechanical Install Technician supports the installation, of compressed air equipment for clients in manufacturing, utilities, forestry, mining, and other industries. Installers receive hands-on training, gain safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, MSHA), and work under the guidance of experienced technicians or install foremen. The role is physically demanding at times, including lifting over 50 lbs. (and occasionally more than 100 lbs.), climbing ladders, bending, and carrying heavy items such as pipe and tools. Work may be required after hours and in adverse weather. This position combines technical development with real-world experience, preparing installers to work both independently and as effective members of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support field installation including pipe threading/joining, ductwork installation/modification, minor welding, and concrete work
· Operate power tools and machinery (drills, grinders, saws, threaders, etc.)
· Assist skilled trades (electricians, welders, fabricators, pipefitters)
· Ensure job site safety and perform cleanup and setup/takedown of equipment
· Travel to customer field sites and stay overnight as required (60+ mile radius)
· Remain available and responsive during on-call assignments
· Check in with Service Coordinator daily
· Maintain a clean, professional appearance and truck.
Install Technician requirements are:
Requirements:- Mechanically inclined with basic electrical understanding in an industrial setting.
- Knowledge of hand/power tools and safety practices.
- Communication (verbal and written) and Interpersonal skills.
- Strong time-management and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented and able to take direction.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently; occasionally 100+ lbs.
- Climb ladders, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in inclement weather or after hours, weekends and holidays if required
- Walk and stand for extended periods; perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
- Travel required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record and ability to operate a service van or truck.
- Some experience in industrial or construction environments is preferred.
- Willingness to complete on-the-job safety training (OSHA, MSHA, etc.).
