Position Overview:
The Summer Camp Youth Development Professional is responsible for the implementation of daily summer camp programs and activities. This role supports a fun, safe, and engaging environment while fostering positive youth development. Staff will serve as role models by demonstrating the Club’s core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise campers and ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and lead daily camp activities including games, arts & crafts, sports, and group projects
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that encourages participation
- Serves as a role model, mentor, and advocate for youth
- Assist with field trips, special events, and outdoor activities
- Monitor behavior and address conflicts in a constructive and appropriate manner
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
- Follow all BGCC policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, occasional running/jogging, leaning, bending, and sitting. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
Qualifications
- Reliable, responsible, and adaptable
- Must be able to pass background checks (NJDCF and organizational requirements)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Previous experience working with children preferred
Schedule:
Seasonal, Part Time, Monday-Friday
Shifts Available
- 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM
- 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Compensation:
$15.92 per hour
