Product Engineer II Utility Solutions

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Engineer II – Utility Solutions based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to build practical geospatial solutions that address complex challenges across the utilities and telecommunications sectors.
You’ll work at the intersection of GIS technology, industry workflows, customer needs, and product development.
The position combines solution design, configuration, testing, documentation, and customer engagement.
You’ll collaborate closely with customers, product teams, software developers, business development, and professional services.
Your work will help organizations in electric, gas, water, sewer, stormwater, and telecommunications improve their operations.

Accountabilities:
  • Discover customer needs and translate utility and telecommunications industry requirements into practical geospatial solutions.
  • Configure GIS applications, tools, information models, and workflows for industry-specific use cases.
  • Contribute to product design decisions with a focus on usability, simplicity, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams across software development, business development, and professional services to define and deliver solutions.
  • Create, review, and maintain product briefs, presentations, technical documentation, and other supporting materials.
  • Design and execute test cases covering functionality, performance, scalability, and durability, using both manual and automated testing approaches.
  • Analyze test results, communicate findings, and help assess overall product quality and release readiness.
  • Maintain and enhance existing solutions while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Present and promote solutions to internal and external audiences, helping stakeholders understand their value and capabilities.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of professional experience in utilities, infrastructure, telecommunications, or a related industry, with experience applying GIS to industry-specific workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and document GIS solutions spanning organizational needs and web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in geography or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of utility data management, asset management, and relevant operational workflows is preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro and configuration of web-based GIS applications is highly desirable.
  • Programming or scripting experience with technologies such as Python or Arcade is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, with the ability to develop practical solutions to complex business and technical challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team while taking ownership of individual deliverables.
  • A customer-focused mindset and willingness to gather feedback, iterate on solutions, and continuously improve product quality.

  • Competitive base salary estimated at $79,664–$133,120 USD, depending on skills, experience, training, certifications, and other relevant factors.
