This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Rare Diseases Launch Excellence & Medical Lead based in Netherlands.
This is a strategic corporate role focused on shaping the global medical strategy and launch readiness of an innovative Rare Diseases portfolio.
You will work across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical Development, Regulatory, Market Access and international affiliates to ensure strong alignment and execution.
The role combines scientific leadership with launch excellence, strategic planning and cross-functional influence.
You will help translate medical insights into actionable strategies that support successful product launches and long-term portfolio growth.
You will also contribute to evidence generation, scientific communication, KOL engagement and future asset evaluation.

- Lead the global medical strategy for pipeline and in-market Rare Diseases products, ensuring alignment with broader portfolio priorities.
- Drive launch excellence and launch readiness across international affiliates, developing and implementing medical plans that support successful product launches.
- Generate and synthesize medical insights, translating findings into strategic recommendations and actionable initiatives.
- Lead scientific communication activities, evidence-generation initiatives and publication planning to strengthen the medical value proposition.
- Develop and maintain relationships with international Key Opinion Leaders and scientific experts, including the planning and execution of advisory boards.
- Partner closely with Commercial, Clinical Development, Regulatory and Market Access teams to ensure effective cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment.
- Identify opportunities for Medical Affairs to increase patient impact, strengthen launch execution and contribute to business value.
- Support Business Development, asset evaluation and due diligence activities related to potential Rare Diseases opportunities.
- Contribute to the long-term development of the Rare Diseases franchise and future innovation strategy within specialized therapeutic areas.
- Help establish best practices, processes and capabilities as the Rare Diseases Medical Affairs organization continues to evolve and expand.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, with exposure to innovative medicines.
- Proven experience supporting product launches and launch-readiness activities, ideally within Rare Diseases, Neurology or another highly specialized therapeutic area.
- Experience in regional or global Medical Affairs roles is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, such as Medicine, Pharmacy or Biology; an MD, PhD or MSc in Neurosciences or a related scientific discipline is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives without relying on formal authority.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills across international and matrixed organizations.
- Experience contributing to Business Development, asset evaluation or due diligence activities is an advantage.
- Strong scientific credibility combined with sound business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Fluent English is required; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Strategic thinking combined with a strong execution mindset and the ability to translate strategy into measurable action.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
