Unit Secretary - Emergency

Work location: Texas Health Southwest - 6100 Harris Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76132

Work hours: Full-Time Days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

Here's What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required

• Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.

What You Will Do

• Meets the needs of patients, physicians, and staff through strong organization, communication, and attention to safety.

• Communicates effectively and adapts interactions to patient-specific needs while reducing potential risks.

• Collaborates using the Professional Practice Model, supporting teamwork and welcoming new staff.

• Adjusts to changing schedules and workload demands to meet patient and unit needs.

• Advocates for patients and maintains accurate documentation aligned with hospital and regulatory standards.

• Demonstrates accountability by following personnel policies and maintaining essential Unit Secretary skills.

• Contributes to quality and safety by identifying inefficient processes, participating in improvement efforts, and adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.

At Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork, we operate as one hospital across two locations, proudly serving Fort Worth, Benbrook, Crowley, Aledo, Granbury, and the surrounding southwest Fort Worth communities since 1987. Our 261-bed, full-service hospital provides convenient access to care for patients across Tarrant County.

Our specialties include surgical services, orthopedics, imaging, and adult critical care. We also offer a 24-hour emergency department and are certified as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, Level III Neonatal Center, and a nationally accredited facility for Breast care, as well as Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.
