Job Summary:
The Campus Facilities Lead supports the safe, secure, and effective operation of the assigned campus. This position serves as the primary on-site contact for routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, minor repairs, campus security, and operational support. Working closely with campus leadership, the Coordinator provides an armed security presence, monitors campus buildings and grounds, responds to safety concerns and emergencies, and helps maintain a welcoming, well-functioning environment for students, employees, families, and visitors.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Facilities
- Support the mission of Northwest Christian Schools by modeling Christ-honoring conduct in interactions with students, employees, families, and visitors.
- Collaborate with the assigned campus Principal and/or Director to identify and address maintenance, safety, security, and operational needs while supporting the School’s long-term vision for its facilities.
- Perform routine building maintenance and general repairs, including replacing light fixtures and bulbs, maintaining door hardware, painting, and completing other minor repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and communicate the status of repairs or unresolved concerns to the appropriate individuals.
- Maintain and regularly update preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and detailed records of completed work.
- Safely operate and maintain facilities equipment and perform minor equipment repairs.
- Be available for early-morning, weekend, school-break, or other scheduled snow-removal responsibilities during winter weather, including arrival as early as 4:30 a.m.
- Assist with classroom arrangements, event setup and teardown, and other campus facility needs.
- Support after-school and special events by assisting with setup, providing building access, securing doors, and confirming that the premises are secure following events.
- Conduct routine security checks and promptly report safety hazards, security concerns, facility irregularities, and incidents occurring while on duty.
- Assist with safety and security drills and other emergency-preparedness activities.
- Serve as a parking-lot attendant during student drop-off and pick-up to promote safety and efficient traffic flow.
- Assist with supervising students during detention or student-led work projects, as assigned by campus leadership.
- Perform incidental custodial duties as needed, including lunchroom cleanup, recycling, and responding to student illness or other unexpected cleanup needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Security
- Provide a visible security presence and conduct routine checks of campus buildings, grounds, entrances, and parking areas.
- Monitor campus access and respond appropriately to suspicious activity, safety concerns, disturbances, threats, and emergencies.
- Carry and secure an authorized firearm in accordance with applicable law, School policy, training, and use-of-force protocols.
- Use de-escalation techniques and contact law enforcement or emergency services when appropriate.
- Assist with visitor management, arrival and dismissal, traffic control, emergency planning, and safety drills.
- Promptly document and report security incidents, hazards, and emergency responses.
- Complete all required security, firearms-proficiency, emergency-response, and recurring training.
Compensation, Schedule, and Benefits:
- Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, dependent on experience
- Schedule: Full time, non-exempt, 40 hours per week. This 12-month position follows the school calendar during the academic year, including school closures.
- Benefits: Eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision. Also eligible for tuition discount.
- Time Off: Paid time off including vacation, personal time off and 10 paid holidays. School closures (e.g., Christmas Break, Spring Break) are generally unpaid unless work is assigned or approved by the supervisor.
- Timeline: Position is anticipated to begin ASAP. Initial review of applicants will begin on August 31, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to possess and carry a firearm under federal and Washington law.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Model a life of personal commitment to Jesus Christ by exemplifying a lifestyle that honors God and actively participating in a local, Bible-believing church. Must be willing to affirm and abide by the Schools’ Statement of Faith.
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification or willing to attend training and obtain within first 60 days of employment.
- Maintenance or custodial knowledge including basic building maintenance and minor repairs and equipment upkeep.
- Prior security, law enforcement, military, school-safety, or related experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize requests, maintain records, and work independently.
- Must pass a Washington State Patrol and National background check.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to push, pull, and move equipment or furniture as needed.
