Description:

The Catering Specialist supports the catering operations of Plum Market, including online ordering, special events, corporate clients, and everyday Guest orders. They will understand catering operations and provide exceptional Guest and client service while assisting with the successful execution of catering events and food delivery orders, including processing orders, preparing and distributing BEOs, maintaining accurate catering menus, supporting event planning and execution, and helping grow the Guest and client base. The Catering Specialist will work closely with Guests, Team Members, Store Leadership, Prepared Foods, and Catering leadership to ensure catering events and orders are completed accurately, professionally, and at the highest level.

What you will bring:

Ability to provide and model exceptional Guest and client service.

Ability to sell Catering services and support growth of the Catering Guest and client base.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

A strong understanding of Catering operations, Food Service, Online Ordering, and Special Events.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with Guests, Team Members, Store Leadership, Prepared Foods, and Catering leadership.

Ability to delegate, follow up, and ask for help or guidance when needed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred.

Experience with catering systems, BEOs, menu updates, event planning, and order processing preferred.

An associate’s degree in Catering, Food Service, or a related field strongly preferred.

Minimum of two years of catering, food service, or related leadership experience preferred.

Excellent driving record preferred.

Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Able to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.

Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

What you will do:

Model and provide exceptional service to Guests, clients, and Team Members.

Support and execute catering operations, including Foodservice, Online Ordering, Special Events, corporate clients, and everyday Guest orders.

Receive, process, and follow up on catering and food delivery orders in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with the successful planning, preparation, execution, and completion of catering events.

Prepare, review, and distribute BEOs with accurate information to the appropriate teams and Team Members.

Follow up with teams to confirm they have received and understand the BEO and event expectations.

Maintain accurate catering menus, pricing, quantities, yields, descriptions, and item details.

Work with Prepared Foods and Catering leadership to create, update, and maintain seasonal and everyday catering menus.

Generate client menus with accurate pricing, descriptions, labor, and order details.

Assist with event set up, break down, layouts, flow, clean up, driver needs, and event assignments.

Support driver scheduling, load-in, load-out, delivery, return, and event transportation needs.

Ensure catering equipment, supplies, paper goods, and disposable items are organized, clean, maintained, properly stored, and accounted for.

Complete final checks of catering orders, pickup orders, and off-premise catering orders before they leave the building.

Communicate effectively with Guests, clients, Team Members, Store Leadership, Prepared Foods, and Catering leadership.

Follow up with clients after events to gather feedback and support continued Guest satisfaction.

Assist with daily recaps of completed BEOs, outstanding BEOs, and menu needs.

Process invoices, transfers, and catering sales information accurately and in a timely manner.

Support catering staff and servers with appearance standards, expectations, and event execution.

Help train, teach, coach, and support Team Members in the department.

Help grow Catering sales by supporting new client outreach and maintaining strong Guest relationships.

Adhere to all Plum Market policies, standards, and standard operating procedures.
