Kauai Division Van Route Driver in Lihue, Hawaii at Menehune Water Company Inc

Position Summary:

This position is directly responsible for coordinating with the Warehouse Supervisor or Kauai Division Manager all assigned delivery services to Menehune Water customers.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years of related delivery experience preferred

• Valid Hawaii State Driver’s License required

• Current TB Clearance required

• Sensitivity to confidential matters required

Qualifications:

• Competency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English

• Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs

• Ability to work under deadlines and use judgment or discretion with minimal supervision

• Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision

• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to assigned schedules

Key Responsibilities:

• Report for work in driver’s uniform (MWC logo collared shirt, covered shoes with socks) at the Kauai Division warehouse at assigned start time

• Clear assigned box/tray of all paperwork and complete route list

• Check with office staff for status on all delinquent accounts

• Fill vehicle with gas as needed (obtain gas card from Division Manager)

• Retrieve assigned radio/cell phone and assigned hand truck

• Check vehicle to confirm it is loaded with the appropriate supply of water, cups, cases, coolers, etc. for the day’s deliveries

• Ensure that required coolers are signed out with warehouse personnel

• Deliver Menehune Water products to residential and commercial accounts in a professional and courteous manner

• Represent the company in a positive and professional manner with customers and the general public

• Ensure driver’s license is in possession at all times while operating company vehicle

• Complete Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report Form as required

• Complete other related duties as assigned

• It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities, as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, generally 5 days a week (40 hours)

• Work hours may range from 5:00 am – 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, depending on assigned shift

• Possible overtime, evening, or weekend work required, subject to change with little or no notice

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed primarily in a company vehicle delivering Menehune Water products, requiring lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. Driving in traffic, frequent stopping, and exiting the vehicle are also required while making deliveries.
