Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Tax and Treasury Manager based in United States.
This is a high-impact opportunity to build and own the infrastructure behind two critical areas of a rapidly scaling finance organization. You will oversee global tax compliance and treasury operations while helping establish scalable policies, processes, and controls for continued international growth. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic business partnership across Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Deal Desk, and other teams. You will advise on complex tax and treasury matters and translate technical requirements into practical guidance. The position offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape how the organization manages cash, tax risk, compliance, and international complexity. It is ideal for a builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants their scope to grow alongside the business.
- Own U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance, partnering with external advisors on filings, tax provisions, quarterly estimates, and other regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Manage indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, VAT, and digital services tax, while overseeing tax engine configuration in collaboration with Billing and Product teams.
- Prepare and review tax provisions, deferred tax accounting, and related financial statement tax disclosures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Serve as the primary contact for tax authority audits, notices, and information requests, coordinating responses and ensuring timely resolution across jurisdictions.
- Own transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements, adapting the framework as the legal entity structure and international footprint evolve.
- Advise cross-functional teams on tax implications related to new products, pricing models, contracts, international expansion, and other strategic business decisions.
- Identify and pursue applicable tax credits and incentives, including R&D tax credits, while monitoring global tax legislation and translating regulatory changes into actionable business guidance.
- Own banking relationships and treasury operations, including global cash positioning, forecasting, liquidity management, investment guidelines, foreign exchange risk management, banking compliance, access controls, and signatory documentation.
- Partner with FP&A, Deal Desk, Legal, and other stakeholders on cash planning, contract structuring, and decisions where tax and treasury considerations may create risk or opportunity.
- Build scalable processes, documentation, controls, and infrastructure while serving as the go-to subject matter expert for tax and treasury questions across the organization.
- Bring 7+ years of progressive experience in tax and/or treasury, ideally with experience across both functions within a SaaS, software, or technology company.
- Have strong working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance, along with practical experience managing indirect taxes such as sales and use tax and VAT.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with core treasury responsibilities, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, liquidity management, and foreign exchange risk management.
- Have experience building policies, processes, controls, and operational infrastructure from the ground up rather than simply maintaining established frameworks.
- Possess strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate complex tax and treasury concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-finance stakeholders.
- Be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment where priorities can change and the business requires thoughtful answers quickly.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification and/or Big Four experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting software licensing or subscription revenue models, transfer pricing, R&D tax credit claims, IP structuring, tax automation tools, modern ERP or billing systems, international expansion, or global legal entity structures is highly valuable.
- Base salary range of $166,000–$195,000 USD.
- Flexible, remote-first work environment with opportunities for team meetups and twice-yearly destination summits.
- Monthly stipend supporting coworking spaces, phone, and internet expenses.
- Stock options upon hire and promotion, with opportunities to participate in secondary offerings and a 10-year exercise period for options.
- 100% company-paid health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for employees and dependents.
- Unlimited flexible time off to support sustainable performance and personal well-being.
- Paid parental leave of 18 weeks for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents, with flexibility to use the leave continuously or throughout the child’s first year.
- Significant ownership across tax and treasury, with the opportunity to build foundational finance infrastructure and expand the scope of the role as the organization grows.
- A collaborative culture centered on customer focus, intentional action, trust, transparency, and thoughtful decision-making.
