Job Description

DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Dev-Ops Engineer based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to build and operate the cloud infrastructure behind a rapidly scaling, AI-driven fintech platform.
You will own critical infrastructure, deployment pipelines, observability, automation, and security across AWS environments.
The position combines hands-on engineering with platform reliability, enabling development and data teams to ship safely and efficiently.
You will work across containers, serverless workloads, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and modern data platforms.
Your work will have a direct impact on the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of core financial technology systems.
The environment is remote-first, highly collaborative, and designed for engineers who value autonomy and fast execution.

Accountabilities
  • Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure across services including VPC, Lambda, RDS, S3, and IAM using infrastructure-as-code, preferably Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for backend and frontend applications, enabling reliable and zero-downtime deployments.
  • Operate containerized and serverless workloads using technologies such as ECS/Fargate and Lambda, implementing safe rollout and release strategies.
  • Develop production-grade monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, or comparable technologies.
  • Automate infrastructure operations, environment provisioning, feature flagging, and recurring platform tasks through scripting and engineering best practices.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, secure configuration, and secrets management using SSM or Secrets Manager.
  • Support the data platform and associated ETL workflows, including Snowflake and dbt environments used by data and analytics teams.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Data, and QA teams to improve deployment reliability, system performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvements to platform resilience.
  • Contribute to event-driven and distributed workflow infrastructure, including technologies such as Step Functions, Temporal, Airflow, or Prefect.
  • Help develop infrastructure capable of supporting AI-powered automation, with attention to latency, autoscaling, throughput, and cost efficiency.
  • Improve observability for complex, multi-step workflows through distributed tracing, structured logging, and audit-friendly operational practices.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, platform engineering, or a similar infrastructure-focused role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS and strong expertise in infrastructure-as-code, with Terraform preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitHub Actions.
  • Practical experience operating containers and serverless architectures in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, incident management, and production troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation using Bash, Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including least privilege, network segmentation, and secure secrets management.
  • Experience supporting data engineering workflows, including Snowflake, ETL processes, and dbt.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration, such as AWS Step Functions or Temporal.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex infrastructure issues and develop scalable solutions.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership of critical systems, and making pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Data, QA, and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with agentic workflow patterns, asynchronous processing, dynamic routing, API-based decision systems, or infrastructure for AI-powered automation is a strong advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary.
  • Remote-first position based in India, with flexibility around working hours and location.
  • High level of ownership and direct impact on critical infrastructure and products.
  • Opportunity to work with modern AWS, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, container, serverless, and data technologies.
  • Exposure to AI-powered automation and infrastructure supporting high-throughput workflows.
  • Close collaboration with founders and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Fast decision-making and a low-bureaucracy working environment.
  • Clear expectations, regular feedback, and strong opportunities for professional growth.
  • Opportunity to solve complex, meaningful problems within a high-impact fintech environment.
  • Flexible and autonomous working culture designed to support effective remote collaboration.
