Position Summary
As a Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and training in a real-world setting. Under supervision of a Regional Safety Manager and/or Director of Safety you will be assisting with facilitation of the company's safety program and processes. You will learn hands-on about construction activities, scheduling, risk assessments, planning, and implement corrective measures as necessary; and at the same time learn what a GBI safety professional does on a daily basis.
Position Description
- Reporting and tracking of orientations, training, audits, incident reports, and other related documents, as well as recordkeeping of related documents.
- Assists in reporting incidents/accidents, investigations, root cause analysis and submitting reports as required.
- Responsible for liaising with the safety personnel for investigations, medical and various other reports.
- Coordinating safety events as directed by the safety manager or division president.
- Support staff in assigned project-based work.
- Support published corporate policies.
Compensation and Benefits
- 12-week paid internships between $20 to $24 hourly.
- Cell phone reimbursement is provided.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided for eligible business related travel.

Required Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge
- Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in in safety, business, or related major, from an accredited university.
- Travel may be required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
