Description:

Future positions may include:

• Entry-Level Civil Engineer

• Civil Engineering Designer

• Transportation Engineering Designer

• Site Development Engineering Designer

• Survey/CADD Technician

Depending on the position and department, responsibilities may include:

• Supporting the planning and design of civil engineering projects

• Preparing plans, calculations, reports, specifications, and permit documents

• Assisting with site development, transportation, stormwater management, utility, or infrastructure projects

• Using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other design software

• Reviewing drawings, survey data, technical information, and applicable regulations

• Conducting site visits and supporting field investigations

• Coordinating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, clients, and agency representatives

• Participating in project meetings and documenting action items

• Maintaining accurate project files and technical documentation

• Learning J2’s standards, processes, and quality-control procedures


Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, completed or expected

• Relevant associate degree or technical training for design, CADD, and survey-related opportunities

• Internship, co-op, academic project, or related work experience preferred but not required

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, or similar tools is a plus

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage priorities and contribute in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn

• Interest in pursuing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Engineer-in-Training designation, when applicable
