Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and customer-focused Moisture Checker to support our water mitigation team. This position is responsible for visiting active job sites, checking moisture levels, documenting drying progress, adjusting drying equipment, and communicating updates to the Project Manager and customer.

No previous restoration experience is necessary. We will provide the training needed to succeed. The ideal candidate is reliable, comfortable working independently, able to communicate professionally with customers, and willing to work in crawlspaces and other areas affected by water damage.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Visit active water-damage projects according to the assigned schedule.
  • Take and document moisture readings in affected and unaffected areas.
  • Monitor the drying progress of building materials.
  • Ensure air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers are operating and positioned correctly.
  • Adjust, add, or remove drying equipment as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Take clear overview, cross-room, equipment, and moisture-reading photographs.
  • Enter accurate notes, readings, photographs, and job updates into the company’s job-management system.
  • Communicate drying progress and any job-site concerns to the Project Manager.
  • Provide customers with professional updates regarding the drying process and next steps.
  • Identify possible additional damage or areas requiring further inspection.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Keep the assigned company vehicle and equipment clean and organized.
  • Collect required customer signatures when directed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and established mitigation protocols.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • No previous restoration experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass applicable background and driving-record checks.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in crawlspaces, attics, basements, and areas affected by water damage.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone, mobile applications, and basic measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate documentation.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to manage an assigned daily schedule.
  • Professional appearance and good customer-service skills.
  • Able to work independently while following instructions from the Project Manager.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts when needed.
