Position Duties
Loyola University Maryland (LUM) invites applications for an instructor committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching to join the Department of Physics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor. This is a 4/5ths position with a teaching load of 3 course or course equivalents per semester. A master’s in physics is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. In the Fall semester the position will teach two sections of PH101: Introductory Physics with Lab.

Salary range is $35,250 - $36,600 for those with a Masters' degree and $40,750 - $42,500 for those with a terminal degree.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in physics;
Demonstrate the potential for and a commitment to teaching excellence;
Be responsive to the educational needs of our diversifying student population.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in physics or a closely related discipline
An appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices
Commitment to the goals of education in the Jesuit tradition
Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.
