About Warrior-Scholar Project
In partnership with colleges and universities, Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) hosts intensive, one-week college-preparatory academic boot camps for enlisted veterans and transitioning service members. Boot camps are offered in three disciplines: college readiness, STEM, and business. Through faculty lectures, workshops and research projects, tailored assignments, and one-on-one tutoring, warrior-scholars acquire the skills to succeed in higher education and navigate the cultural shift from military service to college. Throughout the course, warrior-scholars are mentored by WSP alumni who are student veterans who have successfully transitioned from the military to college.
WSP also offers workshops tailored to address the unique needs of veterans enrolled in community colleges and targeted programming for underrepresented veterans. All programming is provided at no cost to warrior-scholars.
WSP also hosts additional programming for boot camp alumni, including a graduate school support program, academic support workshops, professional development information sessions, and community engagement opportunities.
About the Admissions Recruiting Manager
This role involves leading the recruitment pipeline using active recruitment initiatives for WSP’s academic programs. Utilizing a recruiting territory-based model, this role will be required to travel to parts of the country to attend recruiting events to create interest that will assist with filling the top of the recruitment funnel. The Admissions Recruiting Manager collaborates with local and regional organizations to build, maintain, or enhance organizational relationships in the transitioning service member, veteran advocacy, and higher education ecosystems to actively recruit WSP eligible participants to apply to academic boot camps. This position is responsible for increasing potential participant interests in a high-volume engagement environment while assisting with cultivating trust among prospective participants to help them make informed decisions to complete an application to attend a WSP program.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Recruitment Pipeline Coordination
In coordination with the Director of Admissions, Chief Programs Officer, and the other Admissions Recruiting Manager, implement and execute an active recruitment plan to strategically meet organizational boot camp interest forms, applications, and enrollment conversion targets
Develop and execute a plan to maintain the comprehensive network of military unit leadership and established veteran service organizations to allow access to active duty, reserve, National Guard, and veterans with the intent of recruiting service members and veterans into WSP boot camps
Travel to prime recruitment zones to conduct on the ground, in-person, and virtual recruitment initiatives to recruit eligible participants to attend WSP boot camps
Participant Recruitment Management & Tracking
Oversee the tracking process of interest forms (to include delegation to other members of the Admissions department), adhering to the participant eligibility criteria and recruitment standardized operating procedures
Host Tell Me More! sessions virtually and in person in coordination with local organizations, institutions, or veteran service organizations
Develop opportunities to increase the number of submitted applications from potential participants using a variety of recruitment efforts, utilizing our Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
Execute Admissions Interviews with prospective participants to evaluate their academic interest, availability, and motivation to attend an academic boot camp
Overall Collaboration & Coordination
Communicate changes, milestones, and important updates through the Funnel Filling Task Force to keep everyone informed of trends, excess or decrease of interest form that would positively or negatively impact bootcamp goal fulfillment
Regularly update members of the Admissions department as well as WSP Central Staff on the status of ongoing recruitment activities
Work collaboratively with the Admissions department and other WSP staff to implement best practices, proactively identify areas for process improvement, and efficiency gains
Other duties as assigned
Travel Requirements
This position requires up to 20% travel per month to attend recruitment events and other admissions-related events. To meet organizational needs, travel may be required to staff summits, trainings, conferences, and program delivery sites. Travel frequency may fluctuate based on programmatic and organizational needs.
Desired Experience and Background
Minimum of three years of experience in a high-volume recruiting or related field, with an emphasis on interpersonal and persuasive communication to external audiences required
Experience working with veterans and/or service members required
Experience utilizing a CRM to plan, drive, track, and report recruiting efforts (e.g., Salesforce preferred) required
Experience coordinating and training volunteers to support recruiting efforts required
Excellent oral and written communication skills with diverse audiences required
Attention to detail, time management, and high proficiency in administrative organization skills required
Ability to persevere in fast-paced environments, building efficient and timely evaluation processes to make data-informed decisions, with a commitment to collaborative and constructive feedback to achieve organizational strategic plans required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Docs) required
