Job Description
ABOUT EDINA SEASONAL SERVICES
Edina Seasonal Services (ESS) is a locally owned lawn, landscape, tree care, and snow removal company serving homeowners and businesses throughout the Southwest Twin Cities Metro. Founded in 1980, ESS has grown from a single lawn mower and snow shovel into a full-service outdoor services provider built on excellence, honor, and integrity. Our team combines more than four decades of field experience with professional licensing, industry membership, and a commitment to safe, dependable work.
Every project is backed by our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee and delivered by a team focused on clear communication, careful recommendations, and long-term client relationships.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Tree Care Sales Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for residential and commercial tree care clients across the ESS service area. This role is responsible for visiting properties, evaluating tree health and safety concerns, identifying appropriate services, and preparing accurate proposals for work such as removal, pruning, cabling, bracing, stump grinding, and plant health care.
This is a consultative, field-based sales role that requires both technical curiosity and strong relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, communicates clearly with clients and crews, manages a sales pipeline with discipline, and takes pride in earning long-term trust rather than simply closing individual jobs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Inspect client properties and document tree conditions, access considerations, risk factors, and recommended scope of work.
- Develop service recommendations that align client needs with safe, practical, and profitable tree care solutions.
- Prepare estimates, proposals, and follow-up communications that clearly explain scope, pricing, timing, and next steps.
- Coordinate with crew leaders and climbers before work begins to confirm scope, equipment needs, site constraints, and quality expectations.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with clients, referral partners, and past customers to support repeat business and new opportunities.
- Monitor regional tree care issues, including common Minnesota pests, diseases, and treatment practices, to support accurate recommendations.
- Represent ESS professionally with property managers, HOAs, realtors, and other community or referral partners.
- Track leads, proposals, client activity, and closed sales in the CRM to maintain an accurate pipeline and support sales goals.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical recommendations, pricing, scope, and next steps clearly.
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing leads, follow-up, and territory activity with minimal oversight.
- Comfortable using CRM software, email, and basic estimating tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Able to work outdoors and visit client properties throughout the Southwest Metro in all seasons.
Preferred
- Experience in tree care, arboriculture, plant health care, or the green industry.
- ISA Certified Arborist credential, or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of hire with ESS support.
- Familiarity with tree species, pests, diseases, and treatment practices common to Minnesota.
- A consultative sales approach grounded in listening, problem-solving, and earning long-term client trust.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive base salary plus commission, based on experience and sales performance.
- Health and dental insurance, eligible after 90 days of employment.
- Retirement plan with company match.
- Paid time off.
- Company truck, phone, laptop, CRM, and estimating tools provided.
- Support for ISA Certified Arborist training, continuing education, and professional development.
- Opportunity to grow with an established, locally owned outdoor services company.
