Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect – Data Services based in the United States.
Join a global engineering team responsible for designing, building, and operating high-performance cloud data services that power critical platform capabilities. In this senior technical leadership role, you will shape scalable, secure, and resilient architectures for systems processing massive volumes of data. You will combine hands-on engineering with architectural strategy, technical guidance, and collaboration across product and Site Reliability Engineering teams. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and database technologies will help strengthen availability, consistency, and performance at scale. You will also develop prototypes and turn successful innovations into reusable architecture patterns and production-ready solutions. This is an opportunity to influence the evolution of cloud data platforms in a collaborative, multinational environment.
As a Senior Cloud Architect, you will define technical direction and deliver robust data architectures that meet demanding requirements for scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
Design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available cloud and data architectures to support core platform capabilities.
Evaluate cloud technologies and determine their suitability for new platform services and capabilities.
Serve as a subject matter expert in database architecture, particularly PostgreSQL and Oracle Database.
Design highly available, replicated, clustered, and geographically distributed database systems.
Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, and reference implementations to validate architectural decisions, scalability, and security.
Translate successful prototypes into reusable architecture patterns, infrastructure components, and production-ready designs.
Build reusable infrastructure through Terraform modules, templates, and standardized deployment patterns.
Develop scripts and automation using Python, Go, Bash, or similar programming languages.
Apply expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, and MongoDB, to address complex data requirements.
Leverage in-memory and key-value technologies, including Redis and Valkey, to support performance-sensitive workloads.
Guide engineers, clarify technical requirements, and provide architectural direction throughout implementation and delivery.
Collaborate with product and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) partners to align architectural decisions with platform objectives and operational needs.
Promote distributed data system designs that support horizontal scalability, high availability, and consistent performance.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate combines extensive software and infrastructure experience with deep database knowledge, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges.
At least 12 years of relevant professional experience.
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field, or equivalent qualifications.
Expertise in designing and developing reusable infrastructure using Terraform modules, templates, and deployment patterns.
Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies, including PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, and MongoDB.
Hands-on experience with in-memory and key-value data technologies such as Redis and Valkey.
Strong understanding of distributed data systems designed for horizontal scalability and high availability.
Expertise in designing database architectures that support replication, clustering, geographic distribution, and resilience.
Ability to evaluate emerging technologies, validate architectural approaches through prototypes, and develop repeatable production solutions.
Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to coach engineers, clarify requirements, and drive execution.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
