Position Overview
The City of Sharonville is seeking a motivated and service-oriented professional to serve as a Recreation Supervisor within the Parks & Recreation Department. This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of City recreation facilities, programs, events, and services while helping ensure a safe, clean, welcoming, and positive experience for members, guests, and staff.
Reporting directly to the Assistant Recreation Director, the Recreation Supervisor assists with facility operations, staff supervision, scheduling, customer service, and departmental coordination. While this position supports a variety of recreational operations, this role will have a strong emphasis on facility oversight, maintenance coordination, cleanliness standards, and daily operational support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Wages and benefits are very competitive. The pay rate for newly hired employees will be based on skills, education, job knowledge, and abilities.
Pay Range: $22.00 per hour to $26.00 per hour commensurate with experience.

Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Exercise Science, Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Licensure or Certification Requirements
- CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment (City-funded)
- Other certifications as requested by the Recreation Director
Essential Functions
(For purposes of 42 USC 12101)
- Oversee assigned areas of recreation facilities to ensure proper usage, safety, cleanliness, staffing coverage, and compliance with established procedures
- Serve as Manager on Duty during facility operations, providing oversight of daily operations and safety compliance
- Assist with oversight of recreation facility operations, cleanliness standards, and maintenance coordination
- Support setup and teardown for programs, rentals, special events, and facility activities
- Assist with facility readiness, operational logistics, and day-to-day support for recreation programming and public use
- Coordinate scheduling and usage of spaces for programs, events, and rentals
- Communicate operational information with staff, members, and the public to support coordination and service delivery
- Lead, train, and supervise staff, volunteers, and vendors as assigned
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and operational coordination as directed
- Ensure compliance with City policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Respond to member inquiries and address concerns related to programs, services, and facility operations
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Abide by the Standards of Conduct as defined by City Administration
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations
Minimum Acceptable Characteristics
Knowledge of:
City policies and procedures; facility rules and regulations; recreation operations; staff supervision; equipment oversight; safety standards; and basic facility maintenance practices.
Skill in:
Customer service; staff training and supervision; operational coordination; use of recreation equipment; basic office equipment; multitasking; and problem solving.
Ability to:
Provide staff leadership and direction; communicate clearly and professionally; manage multiple priorities; maintain professionalism in challenging situations; problem-solve routine operational issues; work independently or as part of a team; occasionally bend, lift, and carry equipment and supplies up to thirty (30) pounds; maintain mobility throughout the facility; and perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks.
This position is generally consistent with medium work under U.S. Department of Labor guidelines.
Work Schedule
Schedule varies based on operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
Each applicant must meet one of the following:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of application for employment; OR
- Be able to demonstrate a combination of training, education, and/or experience that demonstrates an understanding of customer service, facility operations, and problem solving.
