This is a senior engineering role focused on building the infrastructure that powers a highly scalable cloud data platform.
You’ll architect and operate distributed, fault-tolerant systems across compute, storage, networking, and multi-cloud environments.
A major focus will be improving infrastructure efficiency, reliability, scalability, and cost effectiveness at significant scale.
You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and business stakeholders to turn complex infrastructure challenges into practical solutions.
The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership on large, high-impact engineering initiatives.
You’ll also help build tooling and systems that provide deeper visibility into cloud efficiency and resource utilization.

- Architect, build, deploy, and maintain robust, scalable, highly available distributed infrastructure supporting a cloud-native data platform.
- Develop and improve cloud infrastructure services and automate the management of cloud resources across multi-cloud and multi-region environments.
- Lead high-impact optimization initiatives spanning compute, storage, networking, and overall infrastructure efficiency.
- Design and implement distributed systems and engineering practices that improve reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and commercially efficient solutions for a large-scale SaaS platform.
- Partner with business stakeholders to design and develop tooling that provides actionable insights into cloud costs, resource utilization, and efficiency opportunities.
- Contribute to cloud-native infrastructure capabilities, including Kubernetes-based services and, where applicable, edge or service-mesh technologies.
- Lead and deliver large-scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Apply strong production debugging and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Maintain high standards for cloud security, availability, scalability, data governance, and operational excellence.
- Take strong ownership and accountability for technical outcomes while operating effectively within a globally distributed engineering organization.
- 5+ years of relevant professional software development experience, with a strong track record of building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, with Kubernetes experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud-native edge or service-mesh technologies such as Envoy and Istio is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, large-scale technical initiatives involving multiple experienced engineers.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, topologies, protocols, and security principles, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and GDPR.
- Excellent production troubleshooting and debugging capabilities, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a global, distributed team.

- Competitive compensation: Typical U.S. starting salary range of $133,450–$197,200, with a premium-market range of $157,000–$232,000 in locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.
