Training & Technical Assistance Coordinator – Psychedelics and Problem Gambling Prevention Coordination

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of New England Prevention Technology Transfer Center’s within ADEPT Educational Institute of Maine, the Training & Technical Assistance Coordinator will work collaboratively with the New England PTTC team to support training, technical assistance, and workforce development initiatives focused on emerging prevention issues, including novel psychoactive substances, changing psychedelic policy environments, and youth and young adult problem gambling.

This position is ideal for an early to mid-career professional who enjoys coordinating projects, organizing information, building relationships, and working with the outlined subject matter.

This full-time, temporary one-year position, with benefits, is funded through a supplemental award from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Potential for more permanent position based on future organizational need.

Location: A hybrid in-office/remote work schedule is available using ADEPT provided equipment. Physical attendance in-office and at events is required. Residence within a commutable distance is necessary. Reliable, secure internet is required during remote work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience/education in relevant field, including recent graduates and early-career professionals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in virtual collaboration platforms, including Zoom.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public health, prevention, behavioral health, education, or non profit experience, or experience in community coalition work or community engagement
  • Project coordination or program support
  • Experience with training, event planning, or meeting coordination
  • Experience in research, evaluation, or information gathering
  • Demonstrated experience in development of educational resources or communication materials

Essential Duties

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing regional training and technical assistance activities related to emerging prevention topics.
  • Respond to training and technical assistance requests by gathering information, coordinating resources, scheduling consultations, and supporting follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate the development of educational resources, including toolkits, fact sheets, microlearning modules, webpages, and other workforce development materials.
  • Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and legislative monitoring related to emerging prevention issues and summarize findings for prevention professionals.
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of a regional legislative tracking system related to emerging prevention issues.
  • Support the development and maintenance of an online resource hub featuring trainings, products, tools, and other prevention resources.
  • Coordinate communication and project timelines with subject matter experts, consultants, partners, and contractors.
  • Assist with evaluation activities by collecting participant feedback, organizing project data, and supporting reporting efforts.
  • Assist with planning and logistics for virtual and in-person trainings, meetings, conferences, webinars, and learning communities.
  • Prepare training materials, event resources, meeting agendas, and other project documentation.
  • Represent the New England PTTC at meetings, conferences, and partner events, as appropriate.
  • Participate in regional workgroups and collaborative initiatives that identify and address emerging prevention needs.
  • Assist with dissemination and promotion of training opportunities, technical assistance services, and workforce development resources.
  • Enter training and technical assistance activities into reporting systems and maintain project documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the New England PTTC Director.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand intermittently as required in an office environment.
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of object and materials of moderate weight (up to 50lbs)

Travel Requirements

  • Travel may occasionally be required throughout New England, along with periodic out-of-state travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
