California Orthopaedic Institute is a dedicated surgical group comprising fourteen physicians and approximately 100 employees, specializing in comprehensive Orthopaedic medical care. Our mission is to provide exceptional surgical, physical, and occupational therapy services, along with advanced radiology and diagnostic MRI.

Summary

As a Communications Associate at California Orthopaedic Institute, you will be instrumental in managing patient appointments and ensuring a seamless experience for our clients. This role is vital in supporting our commitment to high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently while ensuring optimal use of physician time.
  • Verify patient insurance information and communicate coverage details to patients.
  • Manage incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health information management standards.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow within the office.
  • Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation for patient visits and procedures.
  • Monitor appointment schedules and follow up with patients as needed to confirm attendance.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a call center representative, medical appointment scheduler, medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical office procedures and terminology, particularly in orthopedics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in insurance verification processes and patient scheduling software.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with health information management practices is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English.
