Treatment Coordinator / Hygiene Assistant
We are seeking an organized, personable, and motivated Treatment Coordinator / Hygiene Assistant to join our dental team. This is a unique hybrid position that combines three days of Treatment Coordinator responsibilities with two days of Dental Hygiene Assisting each week.
The ideal candidate is comfortable transitioning between front-office patient coordination and hands-on clinical support. This individual will play an important role in creating a seamless patient experience—from helping patients understand and move forward with recommended treatment to supporting our hygiene team in delivering efficient, high-quality care.
ScheduleMonday: 11:00 AM–6:00 PM — Treatment Coordinator
Tuesday: 7:45 AM–5:00 PM — Hygiene Assistant
Wednesday: 7:45 AM–5:00 PM — Treatment Coordinator
Thursday: 6:45 AM–2:00 PM — Treatment Coordinator
Friday: 7:45 AM–5:00 PM — Hygiene Assistant
On Treatment Coordinator days, responsibilities include:
- Presenting treatment plans and helping patients understand recommended care
- Reviewing treatment costs, insurance benefits, financing options, and payment arrangements
- Scheduling treatment and following up with patients who have outstanding treatment
- Building strong relationships with patients and helping them feel confident moving forward with care
- Coordinating with doctors, clinical team members, and the front office to ensure a smooth patient experience
- Maintaining accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Supporting practice goals through effective treatment follow-up and case acceptance
On Hygiene Assistant days, responsibilities include:
- Assisting the dental hygiene team with patient flow and operatory turnover
- Preparing treatment rooms and necessary instruments and materials
- Seating patients and preparing them for hygiene appointments
- Taking X-rays and performing other permitted clinical duties based on training and applicable state requirements
- Sterilizing instruments and maintaining infection-control standards
- Helping hygienists stay on schedule by anticipating clinical and patient needs
- Supporting a positive, comfortable, and efficient patient experience throughout the hygiene visit
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys both the patient relationship and treatment-planning side of dentistry and the fast-paced clinical environment of hygiene assisting. You should be comfortable multitasking, working closely with different members of the dental team, and adapting your responsibilities based on the needs of the day.
Previous dental experience is strongly preferred. Experience with treatment coordination, dental assisting, insurance, and patient financing is a plus.
