Organist, Choirmaster & Community Music CoordinatorPart Time
Key Responsibilities:
Bishop Gadsden, a premier senior living community, is seeking a talented Organist, Choirmaster & Community Music Coordinator to enrich the spiritual, cultural, and social life of our residents through music.
In this unique role, you will provide musical leadership for worship services, direct and develop the Chapel Choir, support religious services across the community, and create engaging music programs for residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, Rehab, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as Organist and Choirmaster for Chapel worship services and special liturgies.
- Plan and coordinate music in collaboration with the Chaplain.
- Recruit, rehearse, and direct the Chapel Choir.
- Accompany worship services throughout the community, including Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and ecumenical services.
- Coordinate musicians, vocalists, and special music programs.
- Develop and lead community music offerings, sing-alongs, themed programs, concerts, and resident engagement activities.
- Provide music for memorial services, celebrations, and special events.
- Strong organ and piano performance skills.
- Experience directing choirs and leading musicians of varying skill levels.
- Knowledge of liturgical music and worship planning; Episcopal/Anglican experience preferred.
- Ability to create engaging musical experiences for older adults.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Sacred Music, Organ Performance, Choral Conducting, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience in church music ministry, senior living, healthcare, or community-based music programming preferred.
