SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Logistician II.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP's Tactical Solutions Business Area is seeking a Logistician. An logistician integrates the spectrum of the logisticsprocesses within the operational, acquisition and wholesale environments. They are responsible for directing the integrated logistics process,developing support policies, procedures and systems, and providingimplementation guidance. The Logistician prepares and implements directives toensure effective logistics support, and establishes and enforces standards toensure that the assigned work force is properly trained and equipped. It is theLogistician's duty to develop, initiate, integrate and manage all logisticsactions associated with life cycle management of weapon systems, subsystems andequipment.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform detailed inventories of BYG-1 Combat Control Systemscomponents.
  • Perform general cost analysis for material procurement.
  • Perform activities necessary to ship materials includinglabeling, packaging and arranging for transportation.
  • Maintain a ready-spare parts support for issuance tolaboratory technicians upon request.
  • Track the inventory of ready spare items maintaining aminimum on hand stock. Take the necessary actions to replenish stocked itemsadhering to established customer processes.
  • Procure materials using corporate purchasing processes.
  • Deliver procured items to the customer location.
  • Some fabrication of simple equipment panels and fixtures in accordance with drawings hands on training and drawings will be required.
  • Utilize Cost Point and eQuip systems to process material processing.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of the Defense Reutilization and MarketingOffice. It is now officially known as DLA Disposition Services to requestmaterial and equipment as needed.
  • Component stocks located between several locations acrossthe NUWC and Naval Station campus this requiring some flexibility working inseveral locations.
  • Inventory skills.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to interpret drawings necessary to build simplepanels and fixtures after OJT has been provided.
  • Ability to work independently with minimalsupervision.
  • Willingness to learn new logistical tasks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and the ability touse the internet to conduct materials related research.
  • IHS/Haystack Gold (Federal Logistics information Search).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and inwriting with team members with varying skill sets.
  • Utilize NUWC intranet and applications (Will train if notknown).

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Tool Room / Multipurpose Room - Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Use of machine tools and equipment which may require PPE. Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Daily use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions for temperature and lighting. Variable air and elevated noise conditions based on operation of machinery, as well as welding or painting equipment. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses are required at all times; respirator or welding helmet required based on work being performed.
