seeking experienced and qualified individuals for the position of:
OPERATOR IN TRAINING
$52,124.80 - $63,585.60 ANNUALLY (OIT)
OPERATOR
$81,598.40 - $99,403.20 ANNUALLY (OPERATOR)
Fringe Benefits Include:
- CalPERS 2.5% @ 55 (2%@55 applies if previously a CalPERS member with no more than a 6 month break in membership. If employee is new to CalPERS or has not been a member for over 6 months formula is 2% @ 62.)

The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Operator In Training. The position assists in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities to ensure proper operation as well as compliance with discharge requirements, for the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA). This position reports to the Director of Operations & Maintenance or designee.
Operator In Training is an entry level position that provides training a development prior to obtaining a Treatment Plant Operator I position
Minimum Education/Experience (OIT):
Candidate must possess (at a minimum) a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), it is also desirable to have successfully completed coursework in wastewater treatment technologies, safety and maintenance and construction fields. The successful candidate must complete application and obtain “Operator-In-Training” certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board within 30 days from date of hire. The candidate must have a valid State of California Class C driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency’s vehicle insurance program.
NATURE OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED (OPERATOR):The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Operator. The position operates various treatment units, observes and reports process control information, recommends process control adjustments based on training and experience, and assists in the maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and the collection system for the Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA). This position reports to the Director of Operations & Maintenance or designee.
Minimum Education/Experience (OPERATOR):
Candidate must possess (at a minimum) a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), it is also desirable to have successfully completed coursework in wastewater treatment technologies, safety and maintenance and construction fields. Must possess and maintain in good standing a Grade I-II or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board. The candidate must have a valid State of California Class C driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency’s vehicle insurance program.
