CHMC –Med Surg-Ward Clerk/NA –Full time-Day Shift- 7a-7:30p – Requisition 7664
A Ward Clerk/Nursing Attendant assists in providing quality patient care by enhancing support services and facilitating communication among health care providers, in an acute care setting, as delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse. Responsible for managing patient records, inventory management, implementing specific procedures and programs, coordinating work within and among other departments, reporting pertinent information to immediate supervisor, responding to inquiries or requests for information, and assisting immediate supervisor with tasks which support departmental operations. Ward Clerk/Nursing Attendant may be required to float to other departments as directed by management, depending on operational needs.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. BLS Certification and PMCS within orientation period. Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security. Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information. Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities. Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
Proficient computer skills. Ability to lift, move, and transport patients safely. Experience with adult/geriatric health care population. Minimum of six months prior nursing assistant experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
