Position summary:
- The Endoscopy Technician performs processing activities including inventory, ordering and distribution of all endoscopic supplies and instrumentation following prescribed illustrated work instructions. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of principles of microbiology, decontamination, sterilization and infection control as well as multiple endoscope functionalities and processing. Incumbents hold knowledge of principles of quality control, quality assurance and continuous improvement process closely adhering to SGNA endoscopic manual decontamination and automated reprocessing directives. They complete all required quality control initiatives and associated documentation and maintains all processes related to the Automated Endoscopic Reprocessor (AER). The acceptability of work is verified using prescribed indicators and is accomplished by (1) direct observation and inspection of final product or (2) process outcome guidance is provided by the Clinical Manager or Endoscopy Registered Nurse.
