Associate, Healthcare Access Management (ED) at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall – Newburgh, New York

Pay Rate: $20.03 per hour.

The primary functions of the ED Associate are to welcome patients as they enter the ED, determine the nature of the visit, advise them of next steps, and obtain all demographic and insurance information. This position must ensure accurate and timely medical record completion in accordance with Joint Commission standards, Department of Health (DOH) rules and regulations, and medical staff bylaws. This position requires frequent contact with patients, medical staff, third party payers and community agencies.

Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English required. Ability to also communicate in Spanish a plus.

Experience: At least one year of medical office experience with frequent customer interaction required. Previous patient registration or patient accounting experience preferred. Basic computer skills required.

Licensure, Registration or Certification: Must complete Non-Crisis Intervention Training on a bi-annual basis.
