Job Description

Position Summary: Harborlight Homes, is a non-profit housing developer and property management organization that provides service-enriched affordable housing throughout the North Shore. The Property Manager plays an essential role in assisting with day-to-day operations of designated residential properties throughout the North Shore region. The Property Manager supports the mission and goals of the organization by maintaining positive tenant relations, compliance, and ensuring opportunities for affordable, inclusive, equitable and sustainable housing for all.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support day-to-day operations of a residential property maintaining communication with residents regarding lease agreements, rent payments, and general inquiries.
  2. Support the leasing process by conducting property showings and resident screenings.
  3. Address routine maintenance issues and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff or external vendors.
  4. Keep accurate records of maintenance requests and resolutions.
  5. Assist in managing re-certifications, ensuring HUD and LIHTC compliance with terms and conditions.
  6. Support the leasing process, including filling vacancies, qualifying applicants, conducting property tours, and maintaining waitlists.
  7. Maintain organized and up-to-date records of property-related activities including yearly property inspections.
  8. Assist in preparing reports on property performance and financial metrics.
  9. Work collaboratively with other property management and cross-functional team members to ensure smooth property operations.
  10. Provide support to senior property managers and the broader organization as needed to meet the missions and goals of Harborlight Home.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of property management principles, COS preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively to a board range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and databases
